WorkCover household help without billing surprises

WorkSafe can fund essential household cleaning where a work-related injury prevents the worker from doing tasks they performed before the injury. The standard service is provided in the worker's primary home and must be referred and approved through the WorkSafe pathway.

Service 01 · Primary

Approved Household Cleaning

Cleaning is our primary WorkCover service and is billed only within the worker's approved household-help scope.

  • Bathrooms, toilets and kitchens
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and dusting
  • Bedrooms and living areas
  • Approved frequency and hours only
  • Current WorkSafe PH410 fee schedule used where applicable
Service 02 · Approval Dependent

Laundry / Clothes-care Support

WorkSafe's household-help guidelines include clothes-care tasks for the worker or dependants, but standard household help is an in-home service.

  • Loading the washing machine or hand washing
  • Hanging or machine drying
  • Sorting and folding clothes
  • Essential ironing
  • Door-to-door off-site laundry only if the agent separately approves that exact model in writing
Door-to-door laundry: We will not relabel pickup-and-delivery laundry as PH410 cleaning. If an agent approves off-site laundry, we require written confirmation of the service, frequency, item/billing instruction and approved amount before invoicing.

What we need before a WorkCover-funded clean

1

Accepted claim & referral

The worker has an accepted claim and the household-help request/referral has been made through the permitted WorkSafe pathway.

2

Written agent approval

We sight the approval showing service type, approved hours/frequency and approval period.

3

Provider requirements

Silv's provider registration and insurance requirements must be confirmed before WorkSafe-funded service commences.

4

Service & invoice

We record attendance and bill only the actual approved service using the required WorkSafe invoice information.

Current fee reference: WorkSafe's fee schedule effective 1 July 2026 lists PH410 Home Help Services - Cleaning at a maximum $46.76 per hour, exclusive of GST where GST is applicable. We follow the current schedule at the date of service.

WorkCover cleaning questions

Can I simply book and send the invoice to WorkCover?

No. WorkSafe household help requires the relevant referral/request and agent approval. We also need the provider requirements confirmed before treating the service as WorkCover-funded.

Can cleaning be weekly?

WorkSafe determines the approved frequency. Standard claims guidance commonly contemplates 1–2 hours of cleaning per fortnight, so a different frequency must be supported by the individual approval.

Does WorkCover include laundry?

The guidelines include in-home clothes-care tasks such as washing, drying, folding and essential ironing. Off-site pickup-and-delivery laundry is not treated by Silv's as automatically covered and needs explicit written agent approval.

Can Silv's charge travel or cleaning products separately?

Not as standard WorkSafe household-help add-ons. We follow the approved service and current WorkSafe payment rules rather than adding unapproved surcharges.

Have a WorkCover household-help approval?

Send us the approval details. We will confirm the cleaning scope first and only add laundry support when the approval allows it.
